Playschool Inc. is a licensed early childhood program that has been operating in the Sackville/Tantramar area since the early 1970s. Playschool is run by qualified early childhood educators and parents/caregivers. Playschool Inc. became a Designated Early Learning Centre in January 2019.
Playschool strives to provide a warm, nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment for children two to five years of age. Each child and family is supported and empowered in their growth and development with unique, exciting, challenging and developmentally-appropriate programs developed to enhance and promote child and family strength and growth.
We believe that each child grows and learns through play, both free and directed. We facilitate that learning by providing opportunities for children to utilize their natural curiosity and desire to investigate and learn. We believe that children need, expect and deserve to be guided in ways that will help them be safe, healthy, happy and well-adjusted. Within our beliefs, we acknowledge the “whole child” and provide for growth in each area of development: social, physical, emotional, and intellectual.
Playschool staff and board members are committed to professional growth and development and regularly attend conferences and college ECE courses.
Choosing a Child Care Centre
Choosing a child care centre that meets the unique needs of your child and family is a tremendous responsibility. It is important that you agree with our philosophies and policies, as defined in our centre family handbook, as these are the principles on which the program and interactions with your child and family will be based.
It is also important that you are comfortable with the environment and educators who are responsible for your child’s well-being, security and early childhood learning during their attendance at Playschool.
